Domino’s are…Mobile Friendly
Posted October 4, 2011 at 4:34 pmFiled under: Mobile Friendly, Mobile Friendly vs Mobile Lazy by Anne Thomas Follow @Miss_mobile_webWe put this site to our mobile friendly verses mobile lazy test:
Name: Domino’s Pizza
URL: http://dominos.co.uk/
Alexa Rank: 16,372
Wapple Mobile Friendly Score: 6/10 (how we calculated score)
Load size: 717 kb
Result: Mobile Friendly

What we loved: The iPhone version was particularly usable with great layout and clear buttons for ‘menu’ and ‘click-to-call’. This version was easy to use and branded nicely.
What we’d love to see improved: The same experience as above for all other mobile devices! The experience on other browsers was unnecessarily simplified. This is frustrating to see. WP7 is as capable as iPhone yet the mobile site was dumbed down for it with no simple click-to-call. With technology like Wapple’s each device gets the best experience for it’s capabilities.
Additionally the mobile site’s load time was huge (10 times as big as Covergirl) – this will create a massive barrier for most mobile consumers – the site load should be a great deal smaller.

No joy for me, I logged on using old(ish) Nokia and it couldn’t locate my nearest pizza store even though I know it is 2 miles away. No click to call, links to small for my chubby fingers so I phoned them instead…much quicker!
